(May 13, 2016) A firefighter in Minnesota didn't realize he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) when he started on a downward spiral. He became a drug addict, lost his family and had two suicide attempts. He finally reached out to the Fire/EMS Helpline, offered through the Share the Load program. He is now free from his addiction and getting treatment for his PTSD and travels the country to alert fire departments of the need for behavioral health training.
Read his story, and hear him speak at the NVFC's Training Summit June 3-4.
