New courses at VFIS University help manage risks at ESOs
VFIS University is pleased to announce the release of three new programs in the VFIS course content. The courses, listed below,
offer tips on better managing the risks you face as an emergency service organization.
Strain and Sprain Prevention
This session discusses the common causes of strain and sprain
injuries to emergency responders and how to prevent them.
Privately Owned Vehicles (POVs) – Answering the Call Safely
The focus of this course is to aid in the national effort to
reduce POV crashes. VFIS designed this program to help
emergency service organizations provide proper training and
develop standard operating guidelines to help reduce the risk
associated with driving POVs.
In the Station
In the Station is part one of a
three-part series addressing
the three environments in
which EMS workers and
firefighters work - The Station;
The Street; and The Scene. This first segment focuses on
hazards and exposures common to emergency service
buildings and provides guidance on how to address these.
