Troy Markel Named President of VFIS
On October 6, 2009, Troy Markel assumed the role of VFIS President. Troy has almost 20 years of service with VFIS, starting in 1990 as a sales and marketing representative for VFIS Life and Group operations. In 1992, Troy became a Regional Marketing Representative for VFIS Property & Casualty operations, with responsibilities gradually expanding over the years into his present role of Regional Vice President/Eastern Region.
Since joining VFIS, Troy has been responsible for sales, marketing and distribution management for all VFIS lines of business and has continued to assume ever increasing management responsibilities. In addition to Troy’s sales and marketing experience, he also possesses a solid insurance background. More importantly, Troy has a long history with the VFIS program, understands the importance of our distribution network and has developed numerous relationships within the emergency services community.
